Court settlements and a $2.9 million decrease in taxable land in town dropped the town's grand list by 0.19 percent in 2016.
"The drop in the October 2016 Grand List is a consequence primarily of court challenges and other adjustments to the revaluation completed the previous year," Mayor Roy Zartarian said. "It goes without saying that the budget process will be very constrained."
The 2016 grand list totals $2.6 billion, a decrease of $5 million for the previous year.
