Pratt & Whitney will provide its next generation PurePower engines for 50 Embraer E-Jets to a trio of U.S. regional airlines, in a deal announced Wednesday at the Farnborough Air Show.
Trans States Airlines, GoJet Airlines, and Compass Airlines will start receiving the new jets in 2020, the announcement said.
Embraer is the market leader for jets with up to 120 seats.
This sales announcement follows announcements this week of 86 other orders, primarily on Airbus's A320neo, which launches in 2015. The smallest order, of six engines, was for Japan's MRJ.
