Deodorant Leads Southington Police To Wanted Parolee, Police Say

Stolen deodorant led officers to a Bristol parolee who is wanted in New York, police said Monday.

Shane Wilson, 29, was arrested Saturday after police received a call from the ShopRite supermarket at 750 Queen St. A loss-prevention worker there caught a man stealing more than $50 worth of deodorant, police said. The man, later identified as Shane Wilson, also had drug paraphernalia on him.

Police said Wilson initially provided a false name and date of birth, they said. They eventually learned his true identity and found out about a warrant for his arrest out of New York state.
