MetLife Inc. announced Thursday it is teaming with a California developer to build a $110 million industrial distribution center near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia.
The New York life insurer, which has operations in Bloomfield, is teaming with Panattoni Development Co., a developer based in Newport Beach, Calif. The two companies are building on 183 acres, 15 miles from the airport and 25 miles from Atlanta.
The Lambert Farms Distribution Center in Henry County, Ga., projected to be as large as 3 million square feet, could be used by major retailers. Construction is expected to take 3 years.
