The Borgata

In 2003, the Borgata became the city's first new hotel property in 13 years. Now, the sleek casino-hotel is one of Atlantic City's most popular destinations.

Casino hours: 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Games to play: You'll find 3,475 slot machines and more than 250 table games spread across the 161,000 square-foot floor. The Borgata also hosts daily tournaments in its poker room, the largest in the city.

Entertainment: Concerts and shows range from alt-rock gods Weezer (June 1) to "Parks and Recreation" star/comedian Aziz Ansari (July 13 and 14). Buy tickets at theborgata.com/entertain/event-calendar.

Where to eat: Fining dining restaurants come with celebrity-chef pedigrees, including Bobby Flay Steak and Wolfgang Puck American Grille. The Metropolitan offers an oyster bar and gelato bar.

Where to stay: There are more than 1,500 guest rooms at the Borgata, ranging from "classic rooms" to 5,000 square-foot suites called "Residences." Many of the rooms have been recently renovated.

Getting there: Take 95 North to the Walt Whitman Bridge, North-South Freeway (Route 42) to Atlantic City Expressway, Exit 1 toward Convention Center/Marina/Brigantine; merge onto Atlantic City Express-Brigantine Connecter; take the exit toward Borgata Way.
