A Baltimore Police sergeant held a group of men suspected of a Federal Hill armed robbery at gunpoint until other officers arrived and arrested the men, according to the department.
Police went to the 1400 block of Light Street for a call about the robbery shortly before 3:30 a.m. An officer spoke to the victim who said two men, one armed with a handgun, had taken his iPhone.
The sergeant, who was nearby, saw men who fit the description of the robbers in a 1994 Town and Country minivan in the 900 block of S. Hanover Street, according to police. The sergeant boxed the van in before holding the men at gunpoint until three other officers arrived, police said.
Police said they recovered a handgun and the phone from the vehicle. William Christian, 26, and Rodney Williams, 21, were arrested in connection with the robbery. A third man, 24-year-old Jermaine Davis was not charged, but arrested on an open warrant in an assault case, police said.
