Banksy's Cafe has closed in Lake Falls Village. Owners Robb Banks and Will Brown will be focusing on their catering operations, which they had been running out of the same location.
The cafe, which opened in 2009, served made-to-order sandwiches and salads, roasted coffee from Baltimore Coffee & Tea, and local sweets like Naron chocolates and Mouth Party caramels. The cafe also had a presence at the Baltimore Farmers' Market and Bazaar, where it would sell prepared soups and macaroni and cheese.
Banks and Brown are looking for a new commercial kitchen for their catering operation, according to the news release announcing the cafe's closure.
A fire, remembered Regi's (1003 Light St., 410-539-7344, regisamericanbistro.com) is observing the first anniversary of the early-morning fire that shut the restaurant down for almost four months.
On Wednesday, the Federal Hill cafe is offering guests 25 percent off all food items. "We will also be treating Engine Co. No. 2 on Light Street to lunch or dinner for all shifts that day," said owner Alan Morstein.
The fire last April began in an outside refrigerator and spread into the restaurant's back dining room. The main dining room and bar were unaffected by smoke and water.
"Had it not been for our neighbors who alerted Engine Company #2 on Light Street at the first signs of the fire, we would be rubble," Morstein said in an email after the fire. "The guys at Engine #2 saved Regi's."
The shop and the bistro The Wine Market in Locust Point is both a wine shop and a bistro. Twice a year, the shop takes over the bistro space for Wine'd Up, an evening of wine-tasting and wine-buying.
The upcoming Wine'd Up features tastings of some 25 wines paired with hors d'oeuvres. All of the wines will be available for purchase that evening, and guests will be offered a 20 percent discount on all wines featured at the event. Sounds like a fun way to preview wines before you stock up.

The store will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Saturday with a "Shop Local" community party featuring tastings of Maryland food purveyors and meet-and-greets with local food vendors like Zeke's Coffee, Roma Sausage, A. Kirchmayr Chocolates, Prigel Family Creamery and Hawks Hill Creamery.
Eddie's of Roland Park has two locations: the original Roland Avenue store and the second location on North Charles Street. Victor Cohen opened the first Eddie's of Roland Park location in 1944. Yes, it's confusing. (The Eddie's stores in Charles Village and Mount Vernon are not related.)

Amateur hours The 10th annual Highlandtown Wine Festival is coming.
The street festival brings more than a thousand visitors to Baltimore's east-side neighborhood for tastings of homemade wine, an amateur winemaking competition, Italian food from DiPasquale's Italian Market and live music.
Admission to the family-friendly festival includes five tastings of homemade wines, including vintages like the Highlandtown Red and Bel Air Zin. DiPasquale's will be selling meatball subs, sausage and peppers, and other Italian treats.
