I read with interest the short letter from reader Theodore Houk who brazenly bragged that Obamacare will "lower health insurance costs" ("Obamacare will lower health-insurance costs," June 24). Hello, Dr. Houk? Are you living on Planet Earth?
My wife just received her new health insurance explanation from her company. It is a large company. Here is the breakdown of what Obamacare regulation has done to our pocketbook:
Co-pays are up 40 percent for doctor visits while emergency room visits are up 75 percent. Premiums are up 30 percent beginning July 1, and on January 1, there will be a new $300 family (or $100 individual) deductible for in-network providers (something that was never required previously under this insurance plan).

Add to that the 2013 tax from Obamacare that deducted $50 from my wife's earnings (which was a hit for $1,300-a-year ) and we are now going to have to cough up an additional $1,850 annually, not counting the cost of each co-pay.
So tell me, Dr. Houk, in what mathematical dream world do you live? Wake up, sir, and smell the stink of Obamacare and of the administration that wrote it and the idiots in Congress that voted for it. You are delusional, sir.
