With bridge construction and a large truck parking lot next to Barracudas in Locust Point, you probably wouldn't think "tropical paradise" when you first step through the door. But co-owner Paul Cuda's namesake, Cuda Punch, will bring your taste buds as close as they can get to Tahiti without booking a flight or cruise.

The Cuda Punch is fully loaded with fruit. A base of their secret rum infusion, containing large amounts of pineapple, oranges and other citrusy goodness, lays the groundwork for this tropical libation, topped off with fresh-squeezed orange juice, club soda and a splash of fruit punch for color. The result is the most "adult" Hawaiian Punch you've ever had. With a whopping 8 ounces of infused rum in the mix (please drink responsibly), your best bet is to take your time and enjoy this fruity beverage with an entree. It'll sneak up on you.

"Everything on the menu is fresh and we've got a bit of an island thing going on, so this drink fits the theme and puts you in a good mood," Cuda said. It's true; this drink will put you in a very good mood. A little trip to the islands is a welcome addition to any bar experience, even if you're not necessarily anywhere near Polynesia.

How to Make a Cuda Punch

1/2 fresh-squeezed orange

8 oz. of secret rum infusion (essentially a citrus assortment, heavy on pineapple)

Splash of club soda

Splash of fruit punch for color

Orange slice for garnish

Squeeze the 1/2 orange over ice, add rum infusion, club soda and fruit punch for color, if desired. Stir to mix.
