Learn to raise oysters
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation sponsors a workshop from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Philip Merrill Environmental Center, 6 Herndon Ave. in Annapolis. The workshop is for anyone interested in learning how to raise oysters that, when grown, will be planted on sanctuary reefs that are off limits to harvest. Septic System Expo
The Department of Health hosts a free Septic System Expo for homeowners from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 15, at Anne Arundel Community College's Student Union Dining Hall, 101 College Parkway in Arnold. The event will feature manufacturers, septic installers, sewage disposal contractors, liquid waste haulers and health department staff.
