As the Maryland men's basketball team looks for ways to produce more points, one future Terp is on a scoring tear.
“I’ve been looking at Maryland, and I see what they’re lacking on: a lot of scoring,” said Trimble, who has increased his average to a team-best 19.5 points per game. “I want to keep improving on it. That way when I get to the next level it’s there already.”

** The Minneapolis Star-Tribune this week profiled Maryland shooting guard target Rashad Vaughn.
Once ranked at the bottom of the top 60, Vaughn has climbed 50 spots. That rise has helped draw a couple dozen high-profile scholarship offers. Climbing higher will be tough, but Vaughn already can boast about being the top- rated player at his position.
Berry is ranked the No. 3 point guard and No. 12 overall recruit in the Class of 2014 by ESPN.
** Deadspin posted an investigation this week into the age of Bishop O'Connell forward Junior Etou, who had received some Maryland interest.
** Palmetto Sports' Phil Kornblut caught up with Friendship Collegiate coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim for an update on Terps linebacker target Yannick Ngakoue.
Ngakoue is choosing from [South Carolina], Maryland and Florida State. All three head coaches have been in and there is no favorite at this point. "All are pretty even," the coach said.
** Maryland lost out to South Carolina this week for McDonough offensive lineman Na'Ty Rodgers.
"I thought it was time," the 6-foot-4, 285-pound prospect from Pomfret (Md.) McDonough said. "I had the feeling that it was time to do it."
