Brian White Fallston, lacrosse
The junior attackman led the No. 8 Cougars to two wins over ranked opponents last week, totaling eight goals and two assists in victories over then-No. 14 Mount St. Joseph and then-No. 8 Hereford. In the 10-2 victory over Mount St. Joseph, White, a three-year varsity player, produced four goals and one assist. In a thrilling 11-10 win over two-time defending Class 3A-2A state champion Hereford, he matched that output and scored the game-winning goal with 41 seconds left. White went into the season with 39 goals and 27 assists in his first two seasons. Coach Matt Parks said White has taken on a bigger role as a leader and catalyst on attack. In addition to lacrosse, White, who maintains a 3.5 grade-point average, plays on the soccer team, which reached the state championship in the fall.
