The American Cancer Society is launched a major, long-term prevention study across the country and is looking for people in the Baltimore area to participate.
The society says 12 million people have survived cancer and many more have avoided it. This study could provide the information to keep others healthy.
Those with cancer can’t participate, but others can. The society is looking for hundreds of thousands of volunteers to sign on this fall at an area hospital, gym or health department.
Officials at MedStar Health, which will enroll participants at four area hospitals, say participants will complete a survey online, give a small amount of blood, get their waist’s measured and then complete telephone surveys for the next two to three decades.
