The Orioles have placed right-handed reliever Matt Lindstrom on the disabled list with a right middle finger injury in order to make space on the 25-man roster for tonight's starter, left-hander Dana Eveland.
Eveland's contract was purchased from Triple-A Norfolk, and the Orioles designated minor-leaguer Zelous Wheeler for assignment in a corresponding 40-man roster move.
Lindstrom allowed his first earned runs of the season in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader (3 runs, two earned, in one inning), snapping a 13-game scoreless-inning streak to begin the season.

After his outing, Lindstrom was seen showing his right hand to head trainer Richie Bancells in the dugout, but when asked about it after the game, he said his finger was fine -- that he the finger was just aggravated from his split-fingered grip.
Lindstrom, acquired in the trade that sent Jeremy Guthrie to Colorado, has allowed just five hits and two earned runs over 14 innings with a 1.29 ERA. He's held right-handers to a .182 batting average (6-for-33).
He's the latest in a growing list of Orioles pitchers to deal with injury. Tsuyoshi Wada had successful Tommy John surgery on his left elbow today. Right-hander Jason Hammel missed his scheduled start Thursday with right-knee soreness. Right-hander Tommy Hunter has dealt with a lingering back injury and an ingrown toenail.
With Eveland's arrival, the Orioles currently have six starters on the roster, but Hammel remains a question mark. Since Lindstrom's injury will leave a bullpen void, it's possible that Eveland stays on the roster to work out of the pen if Hammel can make his next start.
In 22 games at Double-A Bowie, Wheeler was hitting .200/.289/.275 1 homer and 7 RBIs. The Orioles claimed him off waivers from the Brewers on March 29.
The moves were the 13th and 14th roster moves the club has made this week.
