The Ravens could be in the market for an influx of pass-rushers since Paul Kruger, who led the team with a career-high nine sacks, could leave the roster as a high-priced free agent.
The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Jenkins didn't run at the combine because he is still recovering from a left foot injury.
"It was tough, but tough times like that only make you stronger," Jenkins said of the injury. "I mean, I’m coming back 110 percent more better than I was."
He thought about declaring early for the draft after his junior season, but opted to return even though he was projected as a late first-round or early second-round selection by the NFL advisory committee.
Jenkins said he met with Ravens defensive line coach Clarence Brooks and linebackers coach Ted Monachino at the combine.
"It went good," Jenkins said of his meeting with Baltimore, adding that he also talked with the Detroit Lions. "Real good."
He said the Ravens' primary topic of conversation with him was whether he could play outside linebacker.
As a junior, Jenkins recorded a dozen tackles for losses and eight sacks and was named second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference. As a sophomore, he was a first-team all-conference selection with 13 1/2 sacks and 21 1/2 tackles for losses.
Jenkins said he does plan to run the 40-yard dash at his campus Pro Day workout next month in Tallahassee, Fla.
"I want to make sure I’m more than 100 percent to show what I’m doing," said Jenkins, who had 44 sacks in high school, including 20 as a senior. "I’m a pass rusher."
