First impressions: Manipulating language is what David Ives ("Venus in Fur," All in the Timing," "Lives of the Saints") does best, and here he has great fun with Corneille's 1643 comedy about a man who fabricates stories in pursuit of romance — but mainly it's just in his nature to fictionalize, well, everything.
