By day he drove from his home in Columbus, Ohio, to Dayton, where he worked in a library, his title, "audio-video materials selection specialist," as exhausting as his commute. But by night he painted and drew — so much so that, though Kish had never taken art classes, trained as an illustrator, found gallery representation or sold a single piece of art, he considered himself something of a frustrated artist.
