Wethersfield's New Library Director Trades City Life For Suburbs

WETHERSFIELD — New Library Director Brook Berry has traded the bustle of Manhattan for the suburban charm of Wethersfield, and she couldn't be happier.

"I'm really, really excited to be here," said Berry, who came to town after nearly 16 years at the New York Public Library.

Berry, 42, took over early last month for longtime Director Laurel Goodgion, who retired. She already senses a strong bond between the library and the community.

"I just find that Wethersfield — it really does embrace its library," Berry said. "The staff is very enthusiastic about working with the people and delivering for them."
