The Holiday Print and Greeting Card competition sponsored by the Allentown Arts Commission offers three cards this year. OVerall winner is Andrew Kishell of Allentown, a recent graduate of Kutztown University, with his painting "Late December at Bogert's Bridge (Lehigh Parkway)". Kish's work is available on cards along with "Christmastime at the Farmer's Market" by retired teacher Edith Roeder of Allentown and "Starry Nights, City Lights" by Stephanie Faleski of Coopersburg, a former PPL graphics artist who depicted the PPL building on a winter evening. Cards come in packs of 15, with 5 cards of each scene, for $12. Kish's work is also available in a limited edition of 150 unframed prints for $55 apiece. St. Paul's Lutheran (Blue) Church, Coopersburg, provides "A Beacon in the Night" in this print from an original painting by Cooperburg artist Stephanie Faleski. Printings are 14-by-11 inches ($20) or 20-by-16 inches matted ($28) and available at 610-282-4787.

In "A Christmas Miracle," a print by Jeff Moyer of Neffs, the marquee of Allentown's Colonial Theater announces a showing of the movie "Miracle on 34th Street." Moyer has been painting with the Parkland Art League for seven years. The 11-by-14-inch prints are $45 plus $5 postage and insurance. Still nostalgic for the old days? The limited-edition print "A Hamilton Street Christmas" by self-taught Palmerton folk artist Jane Lach evokes the corner of Ninth and Hamilton streets in Allentown as so many Lehigh Valley residents remember it at holiday time. Local history buffs will be richly rewarded by the 100 pages of old photos and stories about the Allen Township area of Northampton County showcased in "Allen Township Memories." Bethlehem artist Rose Mavis has created a series of postcards with designs related to her Christmas City home town: a Moravian star, a ribbon spelling out Bethlehem and the belfry of Central Moravian Church. Watercolor portraits of children are the specialty of Kim Hogan of Easton. A graduate of New York's School of Visual Arts, she has received numerous awards, including a grand prize for a glass mosaic in Northampton County's 250th anniversary art contest. "Christmas on Main Street" in Coopersburg is the subject of this print by Kimberly Ehring of Coopersburg. Locals will recognize Fluck's Hardware Store and Carpenter's Alley. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the $25 unframed print benefits the Southern Lehigh Public Library's building campaign.
