LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A record corn crop has been forecast for Nebraska this year.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a news release on Thursday that a record 1.6 billion bushels are expected to be harvested, based on Aug. 1 conditions.
The USDA says 9.65 million Nebraska acres are expected to be harvested for grain, also 9 percent higher than last year.
The soybean forecast is 244 million bushels, which is 9 percent under last year's production.
