This Connecticut craft beer festival returns to Hartford's Constitution Plaza Sept. 15 with two sessions: the first from 1 to 4 p.m. and the second from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event features beer and cider tastings from more than 30 state producers, food trucks and live music, with headliner Bronze Radio Return. The CT Horrorfest returns to the Danbury Arena, 1 Independence Way, on Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This year’s guests include Chucky’s friend Andy (Alex Vincent from the 1988 “Child’s Play’) action film icon Pam Grier from “Scream Blacula Scream,” “Halloween” stars Nick Castle, Nancy Kyes and PJ Soles, and more. Stonington Vineyards, 523 Taugwonk Road, hosts its annual harvest wine festival Sept. 15 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. A demolition derby from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 13 kicks off Berlin’s country fair at 430 Beckley Road, but the full fair follows — with a salad shakes, fried Oreos, a rodeo, midway and more — Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. $12 for adults, $8 for seniors; under 12 free. Firefighters Food Truck Fest
The Avon Volunteer Fire Department hosts three days of more than 100 firetrucks, 20-plus food trucks, a mobile pub and carnival rides Sept. 14 to 16 at 99 Thompson Road, Avon. Fireworks wrap up Saturday’s festivities at 9 p.m; on Sunday there will be a parade of Connecticut State Firefighters at noon Sunday.
