‘A Connecticut Christmas Carol’
The latest “Christmas Carol” in Connecticut transports Dickens’ holiday story across the ocean, setting it in the East Haddam home of famed early 20th actor William Gillette. Holiday Train Show
Steve Cryan’s famous, family-friendly train show returns for its 24th year to the Connecticut River Museum in Essex Nov. 16 and runs through Feb. 19. Train enthusiasts can expect more trains, new scenery and a few surprises in the fully operational 26-foot model train layout. Visitors are challenged to find a scavenger list of various objects hidden within the settings, and kids can get hands-on at an American Flyer layout designed for toddler-size viewing. Fantasy of Lights
This holiday display lights up New Haven’s Lighthouse Point Park with more than 100,000 bulbs beginning Nov. 17 through the end of the year. A pair of 3D glasses enhances the more than 60 animated light displays, which blink to a radio broadcast.
