A Waning Winterfest

The Aliens Are Leaving Us

The Connecticut Science Center’s “Alien Worlds and Androids” exhibit acknowledges the fine line between science fiction and science fact with tons of information about robotics, artificial intelligence, the solar system and more. Also scattered throughout the gallery are replications of movie characters that have inspired both love and fear in generations of science fiction fans.

But, alas, the aliens leave the Science Center in just a few days. It runs through Jan 7 at 250 Columbus Blvd. in Hartford. Included in regular admission rates: $16.95 for ages 3 to 17; $23.95 for adults; $21.95 seniors. Members free. ctsciencecenter.org

Game Nights

The hectic holidays — and the family drama that comes with them — are behind us, so perhaps its a good time for some friendly board-game competition with friends, or even strangers.

The Board Room Cafe, 514 Main St., Middletown, is open Tuesday through Friday from 3 to 11 p.m.; Saturday noon to midnight; and Sundays noon to 8 p.m. Game fee is $5 a day. Winter Brews And BBQ

Bear’s BBQ Smokehouse will be parked outside Hog River Brewing, 1429 Park St., Hartford, on Jan. 6, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. as part of a fundraiser for Conard High School Safe Graduation. Tickets ($25; $10 for nondrinkers) include two drinks from Hog River's rotating list of craft beers and all-local guest taps of hard ciders and wines. Food purchases separate. hogriverbrewing.com

Monkey Hour
