Taste of the Nation Hartford returns to The Riverview in Simsbury Nov. 3, featuring a multi-course dinner prepared tableside by chefs.
The event is an annual fundraiser for the Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign, which is dedicated to ending childhood hunger through several platforms, programs and initiatives.
Participating Connecticut chefs and restaurateurs include Dan Magill of Arethusa al Tavolo, Scott Miller of Avert, Treva and Zohara; Jamie McDonald of Bear’s Smokehouse, Jon Hudak of Cafemantic, Ed Jones III of Cook & The Bear, Greg Marcuson of Cure, Luke Venner of Elm, Billy Grant of Grants/Restaurant Bricco/Bricco Trattoria, Matt Wick of Krust Pizza & Bourbon Bar, Hunter Morton of Max’s Oyster Bar, Roy Riedl of Mercado, Tyler Anderson of Millwright’s (who also serves as chef chair), Jesse Powers of ON20, Jeffrey Lizotte of Present Company, KC Ward of Rooster Company, Prasad Chirnomula of Thali, Joel Viehland of The Pine Leaf, Bill Taibe of The Whelk and Kawa Ni and Chris Eddy of the Winvian.
Evan Hennessey of Stages At One Washington in Dover, N.H. and Jake Rojas of Tallulah On Thames in Newport, R.I. also join the lineup.
The event opens with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., featuring Cook and the Bear, Ideal Tavern, Krust and Lisa Cole Inspired Catering. Dinner is followed by a dessert reception with sweets from Millwright's, NoRA Cupcake Company, Popover Café & Bakery and Simsbury Inn.
