High school football and sectional basketball tournaments will have a significantly different look during the next academic school year after the IHSAA has reclassified and reassigned several schools statewide, including many in our area.

Penn and Warsaw are the first schools in the area to join the new 6A class in football.   In addition, Mishawaka and Concord jump to class 5A, and South Bend St. Joseph moves up to 4A.

In basketball, Plymouth has been assigned to the same 4A sectional as the 4A N.I.C. schools.

Sectional assignments have also changed in girls basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, boys soccer and girls soccer.
