Former South Bend Washington stand-out David Perkins is leaving Ohio State.
Buckeyes head football coach Urban Meyer confirmed the news today, calling it a mutual decision.
"He’s going to move on," Meyer said to a group of reporterson Thursday. "I don’t know where. But that’s mutual, and I wish him well."
"I think anytime you lose someone it’s disappointing. But that’s business. If he sees himself behind another player that’s going to be here for a couple years and someone’s guiding him (that’s his decision). It's not like it was a nasty break up. We wish him well."
Perkins played in 9 games as a freshman for Ohio State last season, logging 6 tackles in a reserve role for the Buckeyes.
Perkins has not announced what school he intends to transfer to.
