Robinson Leads No. 11 Huskies Past Iona
Stanley Robinson led the way with a season-high 29 points as No.11 UConn defeated Iona 93-74 Sunday at the XL Center.

The Huskies (9-2) were not perfect in their final tuneup before Big East play begins Wednesday at Cincinnati, but they played with a level of energy that had been lacking in recent home games.

Robinson made 13 of 18 shots from the floor and scored 19 points in the second half. His career high in scoring is 32, against Maine in 2007-08.

Jerome Dyson had 17 points for UConn. Kemba Walker added 14 points and seven assists. Gavin Edwards had 10 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Jamaal Coombs-McDaniel played his best game as a Husky, shooting 4-for-4 and finishing with a career-high 13 points in 22 minutes.

Scott Machado scored 14 points to lead Iona (8-5).
