BOSTON — The men's doubles team of Travis Parrott and John-Patrick Smith won in overtime to propel the visiting Orange County Breakers to a 24-19 World Team Tennis win over the Boston Lobsters on Tuesday.

Smith defeated Jan-Michael Gambill, 5-1, in men's singles to trigger three straight Breakers victories to start the match.

Lindsay Davenport won in singles and also paired with Anna-Lena Groenfeld for a doubles win for Orange County (3-3).

Butorac and Gambill posted a 5-4 doubles win over Smith and Parrott to force overtime.

Boston fell to 2-4.

Ex-Pirate promoted

Bijan Rademacher, an all-state outfielder at Orange Coast College in 2012, is tearing it up in the minor leagues after being drafted in the 13th round by the Chicago Cubs organization in June.

Rademacher was promoted Tuesday to the Single-A Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League after hitting a combined .385 with two home runs and nine runs batted in in two previous stops.

After hitting .333 with one homer in 12 at-bats for the Cubs' Arizona rookie league squad, he was bumped to the Boise Hawks of the short-season Single-A Northwest League. At Boise, he hit .396 in 14 games, collecting one homer and eight RBIs.

In 65 minor-league at-bats through Monday, the lefty had nine extra-base hits and two stolen bases. In his last five games through Monday, he was eight for 18.

Wahl in Colorado

Tyson Wahl, a Newport Harbor High graduate in his seventh MLS season, was traded to the Colorado Rapids from the Montreal Impact on Friday.

At the time of the trade, Wahl, 28, a defender, had started 70 games and made 82 appearances for Montreal, Seattle and Kansas City,

He was traded to Montreal from Seattle after the 2010 season after playing in 39 matches over three seasons for the Sounders. He went to Seattle in the 2009 expansion draft.

Wahl, who played collegiately at UC Berkeley, spent three seasons with Kansas City, which made him the 19th pick in the draft.

Wahl's lone MLS goal came last season, when he also posted two of his assists. He has taken seven shots on goal.
