CF Leonys Martin is now 0-for-his-last-18 after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the Rangers' 4-2 victory over the Yankees on Monday. Over his last 22 games, he's hitting .194 to drop from .275 to .260.

RHP Yu Darvish (10-6, 2.90 ERA) allowed two runs over seven innings, walking one and striking out eight in a 4-2 victory over the Yankees on Monday night. Darvish worked around base runners in every inning, except the sixth, but had a difficult time with NY CF Brett Gardner or SS Derek Jeter, who each had three hits. Gardner had two solo home runs. Darvish threw 108 pitches, 80 for strikes. "He bent and he didn't break," manager Ron Washington said. "He never gave in, he just kept pitching. He didn't have command of his fastball tonight so he had to go to his breaking pitches. He didn't really have anything for Gardner or Derek Jeter. Other than that, I thought he did a tremendous job of bearing down."

3B Adrian Beltre has multi-hit games in three of his last four after going 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the Rangers' four-run fifth in a 4-2 victory over the Yankees on Monday night. Beltre is hitting .394 with runners in scoring position at home this season. He's also hitting .241 with two home runs and six RBIs in his last 14 games.

1B J.P. Arencibia has nine of the Rangers' 30 RBIs since the All-Star break after his two-run, two-out game-winning single in the fifth of the Rangers' 4-2 victory over the Yankees on Monday. Arencibia, acquired in an offseason trade before being sent to Triple-A while in a woeful early-season slump, has a team-high nine RBIs in 11 games since the All-Star break after beginning the season hitting .133 and being shipped out. "I'm just trying to help us win, especially with the way I started," Arencibia said. "I've said it numerous times, I was embarrassed the way I was playing. I want to do what Texas brought me in to do, which is help this team win."
