Northwestern Regional-Winsted and Cheney Tech-Manchester cracked the top 10 in the state ratings at Nos. 8 and 10. The regular season and conference tournaments conclude this week. R ob Gronkowski reportedly underwent successful surgery on his forearm Monday to clear an infection, and could be ready for the start of training camp. With as many forearm surgeries now as NFL seasons, Gronkowski has had a tough go of it with that part of his body. Hopefully he can return to being one of the most electrifying players in the league — if that lingering back pain doesn't end up being something serious. ... Redskins fans have shown their appreciation for Robert Griffin III , purchasing items listed on his wedding registry and showering the star quarterback, and fiance Rebecca Liddicoat , with gifts. The couple is to be married July 6. … Chad Johnson was off Twitter Monday and back in a Broward County jail, held on $1,000 bail for violating terms of his probation. Johnson was put on probation for a year after then-wife Evelyn Lozada claimed he head-butted her. Johnson was cut by the Dolphins after the incident and did not play in the NFL last season.
