— Junior defender Rachel Gutowski earned second-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference academic honors for the women’s soccer team at Wilmington (Ohio) College.
Gutowski, a Petoskey grad, earned second-team All Conference for the second consecutive year and was honorable mention during her freshmen year.
— Christopher Hass, a 2012 Pellston grad, played five minutes and scored two points for Bucknell Univeristy during a Patriot League conference opening win over Army, 76-55.
Cory Starkey, a 2011 Petoskey grad, scored two points and added one block during the same game for the Bison
— Junior wrestler Keegan Arthur of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was defeated, 2-0, by Dimitri Boyer of Coe (Iowa) College during the consolation round of the Division III National Duals at Springfield, Ill.
Arthur, a Petoskey grad, is 18-7 overall on the season including five pins for the Warhawks this season.
Whitewater is 6-2 overall.
— Collin Hewitt, a 2011 Harbor Light grad, played four minutes and grabbed two rebounds for Spring Arbor University during a Crossroads League loss to Mt. Vernon Nazarene (Ohio), 55-47.
Hewitt later in the week scored two points during a league win over Goshen (Ind.), 81-66.
Spring Arbor is 13-7 overall, 3-5 in league.
— Jasmine Hines, a 2011 Central Lake grad, scored a career-high 22 points for Michigan State during a Big Ten Conference win over Illinois, 79-75.
MSU is 14-2 overall, 2-1 in league.
— Freshmen guard Jay Redman had seven points which included a four-of-four clip from the free throw line, four rebounds and two steals for Lawrence Tech in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference loss to University of Michigan-Dearborn, 69-66.
Redman, a Boyne City grad, has scored 45 points and is shooting 74 percent from the charity stripe this season while playing in 17 games, starting three.
Jake Mullin, a Petoskey grad, scored four points for Lawrence during the same game. Lawrence Tech is 2-15 overall, 1-8 in the WHAC.
— Joe Keedy, a 2010 Petoskey grad, scored 10 points, had one assist and four rebounds for Swarthmore (Pa.) College during a Centennial Conference 81-58 loss to Franklin & Marshall (Pa.) University.
Swarthmore is 3-10 overall, 2-4 in league.
