DeSales University has named Brittany Hansrote the new field hockey head coach. Hansrote went to Pennridge High School and graduated from Mansfield University in 2009. She will begin her tenure in the fall of 2014.

Hansrote started on the Mansfield field hockey team in each of her four years, serving as co-captain during her junior and senior years. She earned NFHCA All-American honors in 2008 and 2009. She was also named second team all-PSAC in 2007 and 2008 before being named to the first team in 2009. At Pennridge, she was named most outstanding female athlete as a senior while playing field hockey and soccer.

Since her playing days ended at Mansfield, Hansrote has gained some good coaching experience. She was the assistant varsity coach and head JV coach at Pennridge High School before moving on to collegiate coaching. She spent 2012 and 2013 as an assistant coach at Bryn Mawr College and Kutztown University.

"I am extremely honored to be named the next field hockey coach at DeSales University. It feels great knowing that I will be representing a University that already has an outstanding reputation both academically and athletically," said Hansrote in a release. "Furthermore, I'm beyond excited to join an institution that holds the same core values and beliefs that I believe to be true. I am eager to bring my skills and knowledge of the game of field hockey to DeSales, and look forward to making great strides in the future."

"We are extremely pleased and excited to announce Brittany Hansrote as our new field hockey coach," DeSales Athletic Director Scott Coval stated in a release. "Brittany's success as a player and her experience coaching collegiate athletes make her a great fit for our program and our University. We are confident Brittany will provide the leadership needed to build a successful field hockey program."
