Longtime Kansas City Royals broadcaster Fred White has passed away due to complications from melanoma, the team announced on Wednesday. White's death comes just one day after he announced his retirement due to health concerns.
White paired up with Denny Matthews as the club's primary broadcasting team for almost three decades. Before joining the Royals, White was the sports director at the CBS affiliate in Topeka, WIBW.
White passed away at the age of 76.
