Wichita Northwest alum and former Kansas State wide receiver Chris Harper was the first Wichitan to be taken on Saturday. He was picked up by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round with the 123rd overall pick.
Wichita Southeast alum and former Oklahoma State running back Joseph Randle went next. He was picked up in the fifth round by the Dallas Cowboys. Randle's selection means 2013 is the year with the most Wichitans selected in the draft.
KU's Tanner Hawkinson became the first Kansas player to be drafted since 2010 when the Cincinnati Bengals selected him in the 5th round. Hawkins is an offensive tackle and a McPherson native.
