On the first day of free agency in the NFL, the Seahawks made a key move by keeping one of their own. The team reached an agreement with defensive lineman Red Bryant on a five-year deal worth $35 million.
Seattle has now re-signed its top two free agents in Bryant and Marshawn Lynch. Finding pass-rush help remains a priority, but the Seahawks were not among the teams linked to Texas defensive end Mario Williams as the signing period opened.
Bryant blocked three field goals and two extra point attempts last seaason.
The Seahawks also agreed to terms with linebacker Heath Farwell.
