SMITHSBURG — Ryan Byard had three goals and an assist to lead North Hagerstown in a 10-0 MVAL Antietam rout of Smithsburg on Thursday.
Connor Troxell had two goals, Dereck Cermeno and Mark Grunberg each had a goal and an assist, Zach Barton, Max Ober and Martin Rivas each had a goal, Yusuf Bodirov had two assists and Casey Goodrich and Neal Dossouvi each had an assist for the Hubs (6-5, 2-3).
Adam Dwyer had five saves for the Leopards (1-9, 0-5).

BRUNSWICK, Md. — Leah Cadigan scored on a header on a cross by Michaela Grove in the second half to lead Boonsboro past Brunswick (3-7-1, 2-2-1) in the MVAL Antietam.

Open cross country meet Oct. 21 at Smithsburg
There will be an USATF qualifier open cross country meet held Oct. 21 at Smithsburg High School.
Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. on race day, followed by a course walk at 12:30 p.m. The race will begin shortly afterward.
The cost is $5 for runners age 14 and younger and $7 for those 15 and older.
Races will include a 1K for ages 6 and under, 2K for ages 7 and 8, 3K for ages 9 to 12, a 4K for ages 13 and 14 and a 5K for ages 15 and up.
Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers and ribbons will be awarded to the fourth-sixth place finishers of each age group.

South Hagerstown boys soccer alumni game set for Nov. 3
South Hagerstown boys soccer will hold it’s first alumni soccer game at 6 p.m. on Nov. 3 at School Stadium.
All proceeds from the game will be donated to Cumberland Valley Breast Cancer Awareness.
The game is open to any past Rebels player. Players must register by Oct. 19 with a registration fee of $25, which will be donated to the charity.
There also will be a silent auction, featuring locally donated items, along with others provided by professional sports teams.
Admission to the game will be $5 for adults and $2 for students and children.
