posting a perfect 32-0 record, 6-0 in the CCC West, claiming the division crown and setting a new state record for most wins by an undefeated team.
Winners of the LL and open titles for 10 straight years from 2001-2010, Danbury returned to form this season again claiming both titles. Xavier had won the LL crowns in 2011 and 2012, winning the open last year.
Conard senior Lucas Muntz broke the school record for career wins, eclipsing the old mark of 137 set by Johnny Bello in 2011.
South Windsor peaked at just the right time this season, putting forth some of its best wrestling in the postseason. Led by seniors Casey Mitchell and Sam Odell, no area team sent more wrestlers to the finals in the Class LL or State Open.
The Hartford Public/Weaver co-op put Hartford wrestling back on the map, fielding a full lineup for the first time since budget cuts nearly wiped the program out completely. The co-op won the CCC East with a 5-0 divisional record.
