UConn football coach Bob Diaco has completed his staff with the hiring of another person with links to the coach.

Sarah Lawless, who spent last season as the coordinator of on-campus recruiting at Notre Dame, was named director of football operations, the school announced Tuesday.

Her role will include assisting Diaco, the former defensive coordinator at Notre Dame, in team travel, organizing preseason camp, budgeting and acting as a liaison to various constituencies, according to the school.

Diaco has filled his immediate staff after adding Matt Balis as strength and conditioning coordinator/football strength and conditioning coach, and Mike Painter as director of player personnel Friday.

At Notre Dame in 2013 Lawless also organized official and unofficial visits by prospective student-athletes and managed compliance and academic records for recruits. She oversaw student workers and helped organize and direct game day recruiting efforts. Lawless worked for the football program as an operations assistant from 2010-12 while she attended grad school at Notre Dame.

The rest of Diaco's staff previously announced: Don Patterson, associate head coach/quarterbacks; Mike Cummings, offensive coordinator/tight ends; Anthony Poindexter, defensive coordinator/safeties; Wayne Lineburg, special teams/wide receivers; Vincent Brown, co-defensive coordinator/linebackers; Kevin Wolthausen, recruiting/defensive line; Mike Foley, offensive line; Ernest T. Jones, running backs; Josh Reardon, co-special teams coordinator/cornerbacks.
