Half of UConn's roster is made up of freshmen, a group that will greatly shape this season for the two-time defending national champions.
Reminds you of: Kara Wolters
The skinny: Played with Bria Hartley on USA Basketball U18 team. Has shown good aptitude for the game during the exhibition season and will likely start at center opening day against Holy Cross. Is a very good passer with a steady range from 15 feet in. Happy-go-lucky personality.
Reminds you of: Kelly Faris
The skinny: The Huskies hope Engeln plays a role similar to Faris, the only freshman on last year's title team. Geno Auriemma says she has been somewhat inconsistent, but anticipates that her versatility will turn into an asset off the bench
Reminds you of: Sue Bird
The skinny: Auriemma has said Hartley will be one of the most important players on the team. She could start immediately and will be called on to score to take the load off Maya Moore and Tiffany Hayes.
Reminds you of: Swin Cash
The skinny: Johnson has already had major injuries to both knees that curtailed her high school career, and she might be the thinnest player UConn has ever recruited. She will be need to gain weight and build strength, and if she does, she not only will look like Cash, she might play like Cash.
Reminds you of: Willnett Crockett
The skinny: Missed much of early camp because of a hamstring problem, but has returned strong, with 22 points and 15 rebounds in the second exhibition game. Auriemma says she can be a force under the basket offensively and will be needed to help on the boards.Copyright © 2015, CT Now
