Relief pitcher: Daniel Bard

The Red Sox took one of the best eighth-inning pitchers in baseball and made him a starter. How'd that work out? His fastball has dropped several MPH and is flat. He's hit batters constantly and was shipped to the minors. Back in a relief role for Pawtucket, Bard faced four batters and did not record an out Thursday. He gave up two hits and hit two batters. In 12 games at Triple A, Bard has an 8.78 ERA in 13.3 innings, has walked 10, hit six and thrown six wild pitches.
