Starting Pitcher: Daisuke Matsuzaka

The best pitcher on the planet? Hardly. The once-promising rich man took his 0-3 record and 6.65 ERA to the disabled list earlier this week, and Red Sox fans aren't clamoring for him to return. Dice-K gave up five earned runs in one inning in his last outing. No Red Sox starter has an ERA under 4, but Dice-K is in a league of his own. Hiroki Kuroda (8 wins) and CC Sabathia (9) both have ERA's under 4.00 and Phil Hughes and Ivan Nova have each won 9. Clay Buchholz leads the Red Sox with 8 wins, but Felix Doubrant (also 8 wins) and Franklin Morales (more than 9 K's an inning) have been the nicest surprises.
