ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Helped her team win three consecutive CCC tournament championships and the Tomahawks went to the Class LL semifinals twice and the quarterfinals once during her four years. ... Averaged 17.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 3.7 assists for Glastonbury, which went 24-3 this season before losing to eventual Class LL champion Mercy-Middletown, 46-43, in the tournament semifinals. … Scored 1,220 career points, including 1,168 over the last three years as she had an injury-plagued freshman season. … Team's top defender.
LATHAM SAID: “We had a great season. We lost a lot of seniors my sophomore year and it was always a rebuilding year after that. Junior and senior year, we came in wondering if we'd be any good. But we won three conference championships and made it to two [Class L] semifinals and a quarterfinal. It would have been great to make it to the Mohegan Sun. But it was a great year. There is nothing I would change.”
FLEMING SAID: “In my opinion, [she's] the best all-around player in the state. Not many players could shut down an opponent's leading scorer while being the leading scorer and rebounder. And she did that while seeing every team's best defender and/or game plan. She elevated her teammates' level of play and did so with tremendous work ethic and class.”
UP NEXT: Latham will play basketball at Boston University. She is planning on going into the School of Management.
IN 10 YEARS: “Hopefully, I'll have a job. I want to go to graduate school.”
MISCELLANEOUS: Played soccer since age 5, was a varsity player her freshman year when Glastonbury went to the Class LL championship game but lost to Westhill-Stamford, 2-1… Fan of the UConn football team and the Green Bay Packers. … Class secretary, member of the student council and the National Honor Society. … Has a younger brother, Aaron, 11.
