Coventry continued the legacy of former coach Matt Hurlock by winning its sixth consecutive Class S title on Nov. 18 in Waterbury. Hurlock, who coached the team to seven Class S championships from 2003-2010 died of cancer at 39 years old in July. His former assistant coach, Ryan Giberson, took over the team and led the Patriots to an 18-0 regular-season record and a Class S championship match victory over Northwest Catholic-West Hartford.

With the best player in the state, Kyley Reed, leading the way, Rocky Hill went the distance in every postseason match on the way to the Terriers' first championship match and state title. Rocky Hill saw all four of its state tournament matches go the five-game distance. The No. 5-seeded Terriers rallied for victories in the fourth and fifth games of the championship match to beat No. 2 Joel Barlow-Reeding, 3-2, on Nov. 19 in Waterbury.

RHAM-Hebron saw its undefeated record in state title matches end in a 3-0 by East Lyme in the Class L state championship match on Nov. 19 in Waterbury. The Sachems had won four consecutive state titles in Class M competition before moving to Class L for the 2011 season.
