Though he was sent down this week from Baltimore to Norfolk, right-hander Jake Arrieta wants to prove he still can be a big factor for the Orioles.

It certainly looked that way Friday night in Fort Mill, S.C., where he struck out eight in six innings of shutout ball during the Tides' 11-4 International League win over the Charlotte Knights.

Danny Valencia drove in three runs and L.J. Hoes and Yamaica Navarro had two RBI apiece for Norfolk (13-9) on the finale of its trip, dropping the Knights to 7-16.
