It's official: Kyle Crockett has signed with the Cleveland Indians.
Crockett, the University of Virginia's first-team All-ACC relief pitcher from Poquoson, now will head to the minor leagues.
The fourth-round pick signed for a reported assigned slotted bonus of $463,000, the Charlottesville Daily Progress reported. He visited Cleveland for the first time this week, tweeting that it was far different than home.
Crockett went 12-3 in three U.Va. seasons, striking out 160, walking 28 and compiling a 1.98 earned-run average.
This season, he was 4-1 with a 1.70 ERA, 12 saves, 71 strikeouts and seven walks.
