Christopher Newport's women's volleyball team, ranked fourth in Division III, pushed its winning streak to 15 matches by posting two wins in the Beacons Invitational in Boston.
CNU beat No. 23 Southwestern 25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 25-11 and UMass-Boston 25-22, 25-19, 25-14 later Saturday evening.

CNU’s women’s team won the CNU Invitational and the men’s team placed fifth.
Paced by Karen Bumiller’s sixth-place finish and Erin Rolaf’s ninth-place finish on the Lee Hall Mansion course, the women posted a score of 84, edging out second-place Washington & Lee (86).
On the men’s side, CNU had 131 points. VCU led the way with 48 points and Lynchburg, the top Division III finisher, took second with 54 points.
