Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will experience a "fun" first on Thursday night: He has never played an NFL game at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, which is a short car ride from his hometown, Audubon, N.J.
Flacco has played the Eagles once in career, a 36-7 Ravens win in Baltimore back in 2008. He tossed a pair of touchdowns against the Eagles, who memorably pulled Donovan McNabb for Kevin Kolb in that game.
For the first time Thursday, Flacco will be exposed to the rowdy fans from Philadelphia, though they will probably be a little less -- I’ll say enthusiastic, but you can say something else -- since it’s just a preseason game.
But Flacco hopes he hears some boo birds on Thursday night.
"It will be fun to be back there across the river from my house and have some fun," he told The Philadelphia Inquirer. "I hope I throw a touchdown pass and get booed. … That would be awesome."
Let’s hope Eagles fans don’t throw batteries at him, too.
