Cirque Du Casey Cares

Donna Jahns Schultz, 47, looked like a million bucks at "Cirque Du Casey," the gala for Casey Cares Foundation, which supports critically ill children and their families by providing morale-boosting programs. But the Glen Burnie resident had a secret: Her entire outfit had come from consignment stores, where she shops almost exclusively -- and expertly. "I don't have a lot of money. So I find great things there," said the former radiation therapist and now stay-at-home mom of two teenage boys. But there's another reason she looks to save money on the front end of her fashion purchases: so that she can spend a little on the back end. "I take everything to Marley Tailoring at Marley Station Mall," she said. "Everything has to fit perfectly." That's a priority because it's always been important for Schultz to be physically fit herself. She grew up taking jazz, tap and ballet, eventually becoming a dance teacher for a time. Which leads us to another secret passion. She's memorized several of the dances from Michael Jackson's classic videos, like "Thriller" and "Billy Jean." "She'll break out doing one if the song comes on," said boyfriend Rodney Holt, owner of North Arundel Contracting. "In fact, she just bought [a video] last week to bone up with." HER STYLE: "Unique, and hip, and cool ... rock star. This is very conservative," says Holt. HER ENSEMBLE: Forever 21 cobalt one-shoulder dress and Rogue black leather and velvet over-the-knee boots, both from Plato's Closet in Glen Burnie -- "I wear them with skinny jeans a lot, but I wore them with the dress tonight." Gold upper-arm cuff bracelet and asymmetrical black and gold stretch ring from another consignment shop -- "I don't remember which one. I go to several." Mixed metal link bracelet she got at an airport shop years ago, when she was a flight attendant. Fossil gold watch. Gold hollow hoops from Payless Shoes. THAT EVENING'S FASHION PLAN: "My boyfriend ... was wearing a black suit and blue tie. So, I was trying to coordinate." HER FAVORITE PIECES: Her boots. A Guess full-brimmed hat that has a rocker bohemian edge, which she almost wore that evening. And her INC International Concepts black leather jacket with ruffle trim from Macy's, which she did wear. "I found it on clearance. I love it. I had it tailored to fit me a little better." SHE CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF: "Bandage dresses. Thigh-high boots. Snakes. Skulls."
