Fullback: Sam Gash

There are plenty of strong candidates at fullback, from <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PESPT002502" title="Sam Gash" href="/topic/sports/sam-gash-PESPT002502.topic">Sam Gash</a> to <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PESPT006156" title="Alan Ricard" href="/topic/sports/alan-ricard-PESPT006156.topic">Alan Ricard</a> to <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PESPT000008966" title="Ovie Mughelli" href="/topic/sports/football/ovie-mughelli-PESPT000008966.topic">Ovie Mughelli</a> to <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PESPT0000086230" title="Le'Ron McClain" href="/topic/sports/football/leron-mcclain-PESPT0000086230.topic">Le'Ron McClain</a>. The nod goes to Gash for two main reasons. In 2000, he was not only Lewis' lead blocker, but also was a mentor to the 21-year-old prodigy. The next season, when Lewis sustained a season-ending knee injury in training camp, Gash was a pivotal part in the Ravens' ranking 11th in the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000007" title="NFL" href="/topic/sports/football/nfl-ORSPT000007.topic">NFL</a> in rushing with the likes of Terry Allen and <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PESPT000846" title="Jason Brookins" href="/topic/sports/jason-brookins-PESPT000846.topic">Jason Brookins</a> carrying the ball. Gash didn’t make the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVSPR000032" title="NFL Pro Bowl" href="/topic/sports/football/nfl-pro-bowl-EVSPR000032.topic">Pro Bowl</a> with the Ravens like he did in Buffalo, but he made an impact on the Ravens running game that lasted after he left the team.
