Season in review: Jones carved out a niche in the defensive line rotation in his third NFL season, starting six games during the regular season and two in the playoffs, including the Super Bowl. Jones finished the season with 47 tackles and forced one fumble. He also showed potential as a pass rusher, recording 4.5 sacks in a three-game stretch in November and December. Jones added another sack in the Super Bowl.

Signature moment: In a 16-13 overtime victory against the San Diego Chargers, Jones brought down Philip Rivers for his first career sack. Later in that game, Jones sacked Rivers again to record his second.

Stat that stands out: one -- tackles missed by Jones all season, according to Pro Football Focus.

Pro Football Focus grade: +5.3 overall | +4.5 as a run defender | -0.5 as a pass rusher | +1.3 penalty.

Outlook for 2013 and beyond: The Ravens, who wanted to beef up their defensive line, signed Chris Canty and Marcus Spears in free agency, but Jones should continue to have a significant role in that rotation. With Canty on board and Pernell McPhee hopefully back to full health, the Ravens could mostly use Jones as a run defender, which is his strength, but he did flash as a pass rusher down the stretch in 2012.
